New release (2.10), new settings, and a request for feedback

This announcement comes a bit late, but in case you were not aware of it: about a month ago we released Brian 2.10 :rocket: This release comes with plenty of bug fixes, packages for Python 3.14, and a few new features such as a unified monitor interface for smoothed and binned firing rates, and a run_at function to execute code at specific times of a simulation. As always, you can find more details in the release notes.

To make sure important announcements like this one do not go unnoticed, we recently made a change to the settings: all users are now by default “watching” the Announcements category, which means that you will get a notification on the website, or an email if you are not connected. If you prefer to not receive this kind of email, you can of course either globally switch off email notifications in your preferences, or “unwatch” this category by clicking the :bell: icon on the top right. In any case, you will only receive a notification for the first post on a topic (and not for any follow-up comments), and usually, we post only very rarely in this category – roughly one every two months, or so.

Last but not least, we would like to ask you for some feedback on the future of Brian : please head to Give feedback: the future of Brian - #4 and let us know what you think where the software should be heading. All types of feedback are welcome, please don’t be shy
