Brian is available for use on the Fedora Linux OS

Hi everyone,

On behalf of the NeuroFedora community, I’m happy to announce that Brian2 is available to use on the Fedora Linux distribution. You can install it using the default package manager:

sudo dnf install python3-brian2

It is also included in the Comp-Neuro live installation image along with many other computational neuroscience tools, and can also be used in containers (Docker/Podman) using the base Fedora container.

Please see our documentation for more information on the NeuroFedora project, including information on its mission, the included software, our support channels, and the many contribution opportunities. If you do run into any issues with running Brian on Fedora, please feel free to tag me in the post and I’ll be happy to help.
